About IAA's Usability Testing Lab
IAA owns and operates a high-technology laboratory with a configurable participant test environment, separated by one-way mirror from an adjacent control room, along with two observation areas for use by analysts and/or clients. State-of-the-art video and audio recording capabilities are employed, along with scan conversion for recording 'on-screen' inputs.

What makes IAA's usability testing lab unique?
- All Inclusive - Our lab rental is less expensive compared to other marketing facilities. Your lab rental includes:
- Assistance with room setup (configurable based on the type of study)
- Computer workstation with high speed internet
- AV Operator and session recording manager
- Free real-time remote web broadcast (to a single location)
- DVD digital recordings
- Flexible Testing Facility - Our facility offers a more intimate environment that is ideal for product-based interviews and small focus groups and all forms of 1:1 usability testing. Our facility offers flexibility to accommodate a range of environments and settings.
- Multiple Camera Views - Unlike most facilities that offer a single long-range camera view with limited zoom and no pan capability, our facility has multiple cameras in the test room, each with remote pan/tilt/zoom capability.
- Our cameras can capture the finest of details on a small device or give the viewer an overview of the room. All cameras are remotely controlled with pan/tilt/zoom functionality by your included AV operator.
- Overhead cameras allow for a birds eye view of what the user sees.
- Floor cameras allow an overview of your study and can focus in on facial expressions during user commentary or interaction.
- Split screen recordings allow you to see the product AND the participant in a single view. You never have to guess what the user is doing.
- Two Observation Areas & Live Broadcast - Our facility can accommodate up to 6 observers, and we offer a live, secure broadcast, to any remote location.
- Central Location - Located in the center of the Peninsula, just 1 block from highway
85, less than 2 miles from highway 280, and down the road from Apple's headquarters. Our location makes it easy for participants to come from all over the Bay Area.

- Full Service Testing
When full-service, confidential product testing is called for, IAA is an ideal choice. With our experience in design and testing, IAA is particularly suited to producing valuable market research from a product or service usability standpoint. IAA is skilled at masking the true nature of the research, in order to solicit forthright participant responses, and in keeping the identity of our client confidential. We offer turn-key study development that covers all phases of the process, from test design through data analysis and reporting.
