A CPE is a Certified Professional Ergonomist. The Board of Certification in Professional Ergonomics certifies practitioners of human factors/ergonomics with this designation. This is someone who has a mastery of ergonomics knowledge, a command of the methodologies used by ergonomists to design a product, process, or environment, and who has applied his or her knowledge to the analysis, design, test, and evaluation of products, processes, and environments.
