Mini Browser
"The Mini USA web site does an interesting thing in trying to overcome a problem facing all flash based web sites - no back button. What does it do? It creates its own. But theres a problem. how to get users to click on their back button instead of the browser’s (non-functional) one.
It’s solution is to build a pseudo browser. Complete with purely cosmetic address bar and bookmarks tab next to the functional back button. This way, the user will be more likely to focus on mini usa’s button. But does the end justify the means? It confused me to see an address bar that wasn’t clickable, and although I figured it out pretty quickly, I have a feeling that most internet surfers, without significant understandig of usability isuues, will come away more frustrated than satisfied.
In Opera at least, it works terribly, if you happen to resize the browser window whilst surfing the psuedo-back/forward buttons causes the Window to jump back to its original size." continued ... (Via UI Hall of Shame)
